I know throughout this great nation today we will be celebrating our country's 234th birthday today. I would like to thank all the men and women who have served this country faithfully both home and abroad. The sacrifice began with the revolutionary soldiers and has continued to this very day in Iraq and Afghanistan. We must cherish what others do and have done so we can celebrate with friends and family on our nations birthday. We also need to remember that our duty is to them and protecting this country at home from those wishing to harm us. Patriots come in many sizes and shapes, backgrounds, from a street vendor who helps find a terrorist to a mother waiting for her son or daughter to return from service. Choose your own path to be a Patriot and serve this great nation but our Founders left this in our hands. We are responsible for the future of this great nation, We will have nobody to blame except ourselves if we fail.
I want to wish everyone a Happy Independence Day and express thanks to all service men around once again my thanks for your service. I would also like to thank my grandfather William A Dunning who served in World War II and is celebrating his 65th wedding anniversary today to my grandmother.
Welcome to my blog, This is about Patriots and Politics, I will be posting current events about national and my state of Arizona's issues. I believe that our country is heading down a path of destruction and Americans had better wake up.

The Declaration and the Law
The Declaration of Independence Part of American Law
Professor John Eidsmoe, Professor of Law at Faulkner University School of Law, writes:
"The role of the Declaration of Independence in American law is often misconstrued. Some believe the Declaration is simply a statement of ideas that has no legal force whatsoever today. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Declaration has been repeatedly cited by the U.S. Supreme Court as part of the fundamental law of the United States of America.
"The United States Code Annotated includes the Declaration of Independence under the heading 'The Organic Laws of the United States of America' along with the Articles of Confederation. the Constitution, and the Northwest Ordinance, Enabling acts frequently require states to adhere to the principles of the Declaration; in the Enabling Act of June 16, 1906, Congress authorized Oklahoma Territory to take steps to become a state. Section 3 provides that the Oklahoma Constitution 'shall not be repugnant to the Constitution of the United States and the principles of the Declaration of Independence.'" (Christianity and the Constitution, pp 360-361)
The Writing of the Declaration of Independence
We recall that the Declaration begins with two paragraphs, followed by a long list of grievances and charges against King George, and then is concluded by one paragraph followed by the signatures. Altogether if took Jefferson seventeen days to complete the assignment. Actually the list of charges takes up most of the space but probably took Jefferson only one day to write it. This is because he had already drafted the charges in a document he had previously composed so it was only a matter of copying them. This leaves sixteen days to write the two first paragraphs and an ending one! Some of our students have asked why it would take him that long to write a few paragraphs. It appears that he spent most of the time trying to structure into the first paragraphs some of the "ancient principles" which he had come to admire from his study of ancient civilizations.
Identifying the "Ancient Principles"
"We hold these truths to be self-evident..."
By adopting this Declaration, the Founders were saying there are certain facts that are so obvious they don't need further proof or even any further discussion. This would certainly surprise some in academic circles today who love to philosophize for endless hours about the existence of a Creator, the equality of man, and the endowment of rights by the Creator. Here is the declaration in American law of the simple, fundamental belief in a Supreme Creator! And, they said, this is the only basis for sound government!
"...and men are created equal..."
If we believe in a Supreme Creator and that He created us, then we must be His children and we must all be brothers and sisters. As such, no one has an inherent right to rule over any one else. This is our personal declaration of independence not only from the King of England but also from our own fellow citizens who might attempt to force control upon us in the form of regulation or licensing. Why should I need to gain my neighbor's permission (or his agent, the government's permission) in order to go into a particular business or occupation? Anytime we set up someone to give permission to another, we have basically said we are unequal. Of course, this does not preclude having rules in society for the enjoyment of jointly owned property such as roads, public buildings, etc.
This phase presupposes, as a self-evident truth, that the Creator made human beings equal in their rights, equal befor the bar of justice, and equal in his sight. Of course, individual attributes and personal circumstances in life vary widely. Is there room here for classes of people, each with certain rights? No. When we begin to classify people, as rulers and dictators must always do for control, we deny the very equality we claim to have.

Star Spangled Banner all Four Verses plus Civil War Verse
Here is all four verses of the Star Spangled Banner along with a Civil War verse that was added. While most national anthems are short, it does make you wonder why most Americans don't even know that more than one verse even exists.
O! say can you see by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner, O! long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Here is the civil war verse
When our land is illumined with liberty's smile,
If a foe from within strikes a blow at her glory,
Down, down with the traitor that tries to defile
The flag of the stars, and the page of her story!
By the millions unchained,
Who their birthright have gained
We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained;
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave,
While the land of the free is the home of the brave.

John Adams Independence Day Prediction
John Adams Independence Day Prediction
Because of what these principles would do for future Ameicans and the world, one of the committee members assigned to write th document, John Adams. later penned this prophetic insight about how future generations would honor this document:
"I am apt to believe that it [Independence Day] will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and Illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward for evermore."
As we approach another July 4th celebration, it seems a appropriate time, as we have done in the past, to review the principles of liberty, the basic beliefs, and the principles of independence which are contained in this marvelous document of freedom. Surely, if Americans really knew and held to what was contained in the Declaration of Independence, it would be held up reverently as a most priceless National Treasure.

Why Obama wants Amnesty
We saw the same old recycled rhetoric from Obama in his speech today about Illegal immigration. The regular Democrats (how few there are in Congress) along with the progressives are playing the sympathy card on Americans. That Illegals come here for a better life, a new start and the American dream that has happened to many immigrants of the past. The Democrats convinced most Americans of color that Republicans are racist, don't care about them and wish they would go away. Obama is doing this same tactic about the illegals, that anyone opposed to them being here against federal law hates them for their skin tone.
We have seen this before from them about other minorities and the tactic has worked for Black Americans vote 85% or up Democrat. This isn't about race, the left spins it that way because it suits what they want and that is the votes.
Then why does everyone who is opposed to illegal immigration have no problem with legal immigrants going through the system to become Americans. We have changed immigration policy in this country over the years as most country's do as times change. Once this country was wide open with space to fill, Once this country had immigrants rely on themselves not the government. They received help from communities, churches and local groups that helped them begin the new life here in America. The problem is things have changed and our laws have changed to protect America from becoming overburdened by those who wish to come here. I know people on the left get bent out of shape when you bring up economic issues about illegals but my question is why are American taxpayers forced to pay for them.
They aren't American citizen's, yet we give them health care for free, they get assistance from the federal and state governments. I know of a local DES(Department of Economic and Security) person here in AZ that had over 490 illegal mothers about to give birth. We are paying about $15,000 per person for people who aren't Americans, nobody else does this and most places around the world you must be economically viable to immigrant legally to their country. My question is Why we should pay? Has it become Americas problem that the rest of the world doesn't know how to run their country. Why don't they all immigrate to some South American country or some European country or even Africa. The simple truth is we have made it easy to break our laws and they know that the federal government here isn't interested in fixing the problem.
We are a nation of immigrants and nobody denies this but we simply can't afford to take on every ones citizen's. If we don't control what is going our local, state and federal system will collapse, There is tough decisions that Americans must make sometimes. The left may not like this but Economics has brought many nations to collapse over the history of man. To ignore this part of are illegal immigration problem is to our detriment.

We need change in Washington that is clear, I mean on both sides of the aisle for they have forgotten that this is supposed to be about service. Representing the people of their towns, cities, counties, and states not serving their own self interest.
Stark on the border and Herada on border agents
Congressman Pete Stark at a meeting just watch what a arrogant leftist congressman really looks like, he has been in office since 1972.

This is activist named Alena Herada and she has something to say about our border patrol

Ladies and Gentleman,
We are under siege from people who aren't interested in our country or our border. We must stay vigilant to securing our borders, We must continue to point out the problems that are directly related to illegal immigration. This has also been such a major national security problem, There are more than Mexicans and Latinos crossing this border everyday. There have also been reports locally of people moving from the valley who are here illegally, they are going to continue this type of attack to wear down the public. This issue is not just a human rights issue, this is a national sovereignty issue, A financial issue and a national security issue.
