Starting in 2011, (next year folks), your
W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be
increased to show the value of whatever
health insurance you are given by the
company It does not matter if that's a
private concern or governmental body of
some sort. If you're retired? So what;
your gross will go up by the amount of
insurance you get.

You will be required to pay taxes on a large
sum of money that you have never seen. Take
your tax form you just finished and see what
$15,000 or $20,000 additional gross does to
your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next
year. For many, it also puts you into a new
higher bracket so it's even worse.

This is how the government is going to buy
insurance for the15% that don't have insurance
and it's only part of the tax increases.

Un Gun Ban Threatens First and Second Amendments

  Don't Believe Anything They Tell You

 We all know that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed the Arms Trade Treaty Resolution which seeks to get our guns.  They are going forward with this agenda to attack on American sovereignty by stripping our rights to bear arms.  I'm sure everybody knows that all UN Treaties are supposed to be ratified by the Senate but we saw health care crammed down our throats.  They used back alley deals and all the tricks so don't be fooled by anything they say.  The President has stated publicly that he doesn't want to get rid of our gun rights, Then ask yourself why sign the Treaty?  The president along with the progressive left know they have no chance of getting 67 Senators to agree with this.  They will use an end run around the Constitution to attack the rights of American citizens by other means.

 They are working on the language of this bill right now, working towards the 2012 UN conference  when this will be pushed forward.  Establishing the dates for the Arms Trade Treaty Conference is the first step in the attempt to ban small arms and total gun confiscation.  We have a enemy of gun ownership in Hillary Clinton who will push Senators to ratify this treaty. She will push for passage of this outrageous treaty designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms owned by private citizens like YOU. The UN is filled with many countries who hate our FREEDOMS and Ambassador Bolton knows what to expect from them.  He has personally given his warning to gun owners to oppose this and fight against the treaty.

     Just let me give you some highlights of what the treaty would do

*** Enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding citizens cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to own a firearm legally;


*** CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL “unauthorized” civilian firearms (all firearms owned by the government are excluded, of course);

*** BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons;

*** Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION. So please click here to sign the petition to your U.S. Senators before it’s too late!

You see, this is NOT a fight we can afford to lose.

Naturalization Act of 1798

  The Third Immigration Policy in our History

 This very short lived immigration policy is barely a footnote in our history.  Adams enacted this in 1798 and Thomas Jefferson repealed it in 1802.  Adams claimed the law was for national security but most historians believe it was to block new immigrants from voting.  Jefferson and the Democratic-Republicans where the opposition to Adams Federalist Party.  You can see the divided politics has been going on since the founding about the direction of the United States.  This Immigration policy basically only made it take longer to become a citizen once arriving here but they had to declare they wished to do so.

 The first immigration policies 1790 said you didn't have to declare and must be a resident for two years before be eligible for citizenship.  The 1795 act changed you had wait at least three years after declaring to become a citizen and you must have lived in the United States for five years.  Adams law pushed the declare to five years and residence to 14 years trying to control the upcoming elections. (maybe sound a little familiar) Of all of these where for free White and European citizens as slavery was still prominent.  This act is the first to record immigration, maintain records of residence, and make certificates of residence.  Adams party was losing ground and this act was his attempt to help him keep the Presidency.

 While the problem has changed over the years immigration has evolved many times.  We now have a President who would like to use Amnesty to gain votes for his party. If you believe he has any other motives you would be fooling yourselves but the votes is what he and Democrats covet.  It's why the left and Democrats paint anybody not for comprehensive immigration reform (Amnesty) as hating people of color. We tried this once before (1986) immigration act which gave amnesty and nothing has changed for our Federal Government has failed us.  We want hard working people of all countries to come here, We want them to enjoy this Country, We want them to have the freedoms we have.  We ask only that you come legally, We don't believe this is too much to ask.

Defending "The Principles of 1776

   Jefferson about the Constitution and the Country

 The national elections in 1800 were to become the battleground for returning the government to these "principles of 1776." Jefferson characteristically kept himself out of the spotlight, preferring to wield his influence through Republican Congressional leaders and newspaper editors. But although his guiding hand was seldom visible, he played a very active role in the campaign. Throughout 1799 and 1800, he held numerous private meetings and wrote scores of letters to define the principles felt should govern national policy. One of these communications, written to Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts, sounded almost like a party platform.

   "I do... with sincere zeal wish an inviolable preservation of our present federal Constitution according to the true sense in which it was adopted by the states, that in which it was advocated by its friends and not that which its enemies apprehended, who therefore became its enemies; and I am opposed to the monarchizing its features by the forms of its administration, with a view to conciliate a first transition to a President and Senate for life, and from that to a hereditary tenure of the offices, and thus to worm out the elective principle.
  I am for preserving to the states the powers not yielded by them to the Union, and to the legislature of the Union [i.e., Congress] its constitutional share in the division of powers; and I am not for transferring all the powers of the states to the general government, and all those of that government to the executive branch.
  I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple, applying all the possible savings of the public revenue to the discharge of the national debt; and not for a multiplication of officers and salaries merely to make partisans, and for increasing by every device the public debt on the principle of its being a public blessing....
  I am for free commerce with all nations, political connection with none, and little or no diplomatic establishment. And I am not for linking ourselves by new treaties with the quarrels of Europe, entering that field of slaughter to preserve their balance or joining in the confederacy of kings to war against the principles of liberty.
  I am for freedom of religon, and against all maneuvers to bring about a legal ascendancy of one sect over another; for freedom of the press, and against all violations of the Constitution to silence by force and by reason the complaints or criticisms, just or unjust, or our citizens against the conduct of their agents."  This comes from The Real Thomas Jefferson pages 202-203, I have read this book serveral times for his wisdom about the Constitution holds sound today.  Those that wish to diminish the Founders call them Eliteist white men seeking more power and riches. I have heard more than one liberal say they wouldn't have anything to do with Tea Party movement of today and I disagree.  I heard one talk about that Jefferson gave lavish lunches to guests many times during his eight years in office.  They have this completely right. What they fail to mention is that Jefferson paid for them himself, accumilating a $10,000 debt after he left office.  Those who are so critical of us who seek the Founders wisdom are the ones trying to destroy what they built. We have allowed the perversion of our Constitution, We have allowed our Government to grow out of control, We have allowed our faiths to be questioned, We have allowed our Justice to become flawed and We have allowed corruption in Washington to go unchecked.

 Thomas Jefferson would be leading this Tea Party not ignoring it or calling it names, Where is are Thomas Jefferson of today?

An Historical Perspective on Today's Tea Parties

In recent months, Tea (Taxed Enough Already) Parties have come under unrelenting criticism from the national media and several national organizations. (Significantly, Liberals and Progressives are the most fixated on discrediting Tea Parties.)




Yet, I find that the Tea Parties represent a welcome addition to the national political scene and public policy debate. I especially appreciate the fact that they focus more on principles than policies – that so many of their meetings are dedicated to learning more about the Constitution, American Exceptionalism, and the principles of limited government.



But like any new movement, they have made mistakes; and they have said things they did not understand that the national media would misportray; but that's understandable. The members of the Tea Parties are largely citizens who have been previously uninvolved in the political process and are therefore largely inexperienced with its lurking snares.



Is there an historical perspective on this "new" movement? I was asked by a newspaper to do an op-ed piece on that question. In case you're interested, I've enclosed that article below (which can also be downloaded). Enjoy!

Tea Parties – Same Song, Second Verse





America's first Tea Party in 1773 was not an act of wanton lawlessness but rather a deliberate protest against heavy-handed government and excessive taxation. Its leaders took great care to ensure that nothing but tea was thrown overboard – no other items were damaged. The "Indians" even swept the decks of the ships before they left.



Tea Parties occurred not only in Boston but also in numerous other locales. And those who participated were just ordinary citizens expressing their frustration over a government that had refused to listen to them for almost a decade. Their reasonable requests had fallen on deaf ears. Of course, the out-of-touch British claimed that the Tea Parties were lawless and violent, but such was not the case.



Interestingly, in many ways, today's Tea Parties parallel those of long ago. But rather than protesting a tax on tea, today they are protesting dozens of taxes represented by what they call the Porkulus/Generational Theft Act of 2009 (officially called the "American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act"). For Tea Party members (and for most Americans), that act and the way it was passed epitomizes a broken system whose arrogant leaders often scorn the concerns of the citizens they purport to represent.



Tea Party folks agree with the economic logic of our Founders.



"To contract new debts is not the way to pay off old ones." "Avoid occasions of expense...and avoid likewise the accumulation of debt not only by shunning occasions of expense but by vigorous exertions...to discharge the debts." George Washington

"Nothing can more [affect] national credit and prosperity than a constant and systematic attention to...extinguish the present debt and to avoid as much as possible the incurring of any new debt." Alexander Hamilton

"The maxim of buying nothing but what we have money in our pockets to pay for lays the broadest foundation for happiness." "The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale." Thomas Jefferson

These are not radical positions – nor are the others set forth in the Tea Party platform – that Congress should: (1) provide the constitutional basis for the bills it passes; (2) reduce intrusive government regulations; (3) balance the budget; (4) limit the increase of government spending to the rate of population growth; (5) and eliminate earmarks unless approved by 2/3rds of Congress. Are these positions dangerous or extreme? Certainly not. In fact, polling shows that while Americans differ on the way they view the Tea Parties, they support these Tea Party goals by a margin of two-to-one.



Citizens are angry about the current direction of government. As John Zubly, a member of the Continental Congress in 1775, reminded the British: "My Lord, the Americans are no idiots, and they appear determined not to be slaves. Oppression will make wise men mad." But does that anger automatically equate to violence? Of course not. It does equate to action, however; but instead of throwing tea overboard, modern Tea Parties are throwing out-of-touch politicians from both parties overboard.



The Tea Parties represent much of what is right in America – citizens reacquainting themselves with the Constitution and holding their elected officials accountable to its standards. Two centuries ago, Daniel Webster could have been talking to today's Tea Party rallies when he said: "Hold on, my friends, to the Constitution and to the Republic for which it stands. Miracles do not cluster and what has happened once in 6,000 years may not happen again. Hold on to the Constitution!"

Capitalism and Crony Capitalism

   Capitalism must never become obsolete

 There has been a dark side of Capitalism from the start but every economic model has it's detractors.  The problem with modern Capitalism is the Crony Capitalism that has been allowed to happen in Washington and around this country. In the pure sense of Capitalism you have risk, You must moderate your risk over reward when dealing with your business.  Your failure or success will depend on you, your ability to sell/market your product and compete with those selling similar products or services.  We have this type everyday in America at Mom and Pop stores, boutiques, book stores, grocery stores, and etc.

 There have been many examples along the way of companies who failed to adapt or change with the market as it changed.  There are companies that have failed because our Government has allowed foreign companies to use unfair labor practices to undercut American companies.  This has caused many American companies both small and large to use foreign made products to keep prices low.  We certainly have benefited as consumers but for the jobs sector this has certainly changed America.  If just look at the Steel Industry in this country and how even Japan makes more Steel than American companies do.  We allow nations China, India, Japan and many other put high tariffs on our products making them near impossible to sell world wide.  Is this how are Federal Government is helping small, medium, and large companies grow to create jobs for Americans.  This isn't the doing of the current administration but of the past 30-40 years of continuing to see jobs exported out of the country.

 Crony Capitalism is the current affliction that has also crossed the path of Americans since the 1980's.  When a company or corporation has no worry about failing they will risk everything for short term profits. I will use Fannie and Freddy as an example, They can risk without worrying about failing for the are backed by the Government. (you and me) They knew when these risky investments imploded that our Federal Tax dollars would be there to bail them out.  So in real terms there is no risk, they lose nothing and the American taxpayer gets to foot the bill. This isn't true Capitalism where you succeed or fail with no Government to bail you out from your greed and incompetent behavior.

 The Government isn't there to protect business's that can't put common sense in front of Corporate Greed. We don't bailout small business when it fails and so large companies deserve the same consideration.  Capitalism has never been the problem, its Governments failure to help American business and Governments failure to let the market correct itself.  We have failed by allowing companies to rely on Government for assistance and this practice must not continue.  The failed economy wasn't just of the previous administrations doing but of many allowing corporate America a safety net.  The American public should be demanding that no company receive Tax Payers money for any reason.  No company should be under the protection of the Government as well (Fannie and Freddie) for any reason.  If a person doesn't make enough money, doesn't have the right credit they shouldn't be allowed to buy a home. Everyone deserves a home but you must be realistic about whether you can afford that home in the first place.

Recent attacks against the Tea Party

     Tea Party Must Stay Focused

We have seen in the recent weeks from groups like the NAACP playing the race card against the Tea Party. The goal now of the left, progressives, and regular Democrats along with the main stream media is to destroy us any way they can.  The main stream media and most local newspapers have a agenda that doesn't mesh with the Tea Party.  They will continue this baiting of the Tea Party to attempt to destroy creditability with the American public. 

    Stay on Message

  I think everyone in the Tea Party needs to be very careful to stay on message. They are trying to derail us at every turn, using the tricks they have used a thousand times in politics. We need to stay on message people, small government, lower taxes, secure the border, business allowed to fail or succeed on merit. Theses have been the founding principles of the Tea Party from the beginning.  If we find people who are racist or are promoting things the Tea Party isn't about, We must ask them to stop.  They are using the tactic of if one thinks this way that everyone else also thinks this way.

Two Debate between McCain, Hayworth, and Deakin

 We had have had two debates between the three candidates who are running for US Senate here in Arizona.  Hayworth and McCain really went after each other as expected but JD seemed to be doing a better job at hammering McCain.  This went on in both debates and Deakin did his best to point out the both Hayworth and McCain where in Washington when the size of Government exploded.  They all talked about securing the border, lowering taxes, reducing the size of Government, appealing Obamacare and replacing it with something else or not at all.

 Deakin has least Washington odor of the three, Hayworth and McCain have been there to be influenced.  The question with Deakin is could he or would he stand up for what must be done in Washington?  McCain has gone back and forth on several issues including illegal immigration.  He has a ten point plan now for border security but every ones question should be, Why did you not do this years ago?  McCain runs to the right during election cycles and quickly goes back to being something else after being elected. Hayworth while also being in Washington and responsible for some of the big Government growth as well.  He has never denied making his mistakes which is refreshing but the question is will he make them in Washington?  Hayworth has some fiscal issues despite voting for the spending cuts from his days in Washington.  Hayworth and Deakin have both been supportive of the Governor and the State on 1070 with McCain only on board later.

 It's my personal opinion that we need fresh blood in Washington, It may not happen this time around.  We must keep holding our elected officials to high standards, Washington is out of control with growth.  We need change in Washington, Do you trust McCain to do it or Hayworth or Deakin?

Barack Obama, at a recent rural elementary school assembly in West Virginia, asked the audience for total quiet. Then, in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands once every few seconds, holding the audience in total silence.

Police Stop Children From Praying Outside Supreme Court

ADF attorneys send letter to Supreme Court officials urging them to allow constitutionally protected prayer outside court building


WASHINGTON — The Alliance Defense Fund sent a letter to U.S. Supreme Court officials Thursday that urges them to stop their police officers from prohibiting people from quietly praying outside the court building. Christian teacher Maureen Rigo, her students, and a few adults were told by a court police officer that they must stop praying there because it was against the law.




“Christians shouldn’t be silenced for exercising their beliefs through quiet prayer on public property,” said ADF Senior Counsel Nate Kellum. “The last place you’d expect this kind of obvious disregard for the First Amendment would be on the grounds of the U.S. Supreme Court itself, but that’s what happened.”



On May 5, Rigo, a teacher at Wickenburg Christian Academy in Arizona, along with her students and a few adults, were taking an educational tour of the Supreme Court complex. After arriving at the Oval Plaza, they stood off to the side at the bottom of the steps, bowed their heads, and quietly prayed amongst themselves to God.



Even though they were not obstructing traffic, not demonstrating, and praying quietly in a conversational tone so as to not attract attention, a court police officer approached the group and told them to stop praying in that public area immediately. The prayer was stopped based on a statute, 40 U.S.C. §6135, which bars parades and processions on Supreme Court grounds.



“Mrs. Rigo was not engaging in a parade, procession, or assembly. She was speaking in a conversational level to those around her with her head bowed,” the ADF letter to court officials explains. “There is no reason to silence Mrs. Rigo’s activities since these activities do not attract attention, create a crowd, or give off the appearance of impartiality. The ban on public prayers cannot hope to survive First Amendment scrutiny.”



“The only logical explanation for prohibiting Mrs. Rigo’s activities, while allowing other conversations, pertains to the viewpoint of Mrs. Rigo’s expression,” the letter continues. “Evidently, people may engage in all sorts of conversational expression on Supreme Court grounds unless that expression happens to involve prayer. In doing so, the Supreme Court police have not targeted a subject matter or class of expression, but targeted a particular viewpoint for censorship. They have singled out and censored religious prayer as the only form of conversation to be silenced.”

The Feds sue AZ but not Santuary Cities

   Selective Enforcement

The Federal Government filed suit against Arizona for SB1070 stating it would hurt their enforcement of illegal immigration. This is within the rights of the Government to challenge any laws they believe is beyond the scope of States Rights.  I believe they are wrong in this challenge as the law was written to meet within the guidelines of the Federal Immigration Laws.

 Then my question would be this, Why don't you sue sanctuary cities for not enforcing Federal Law.  If a Town, City, County or State refuses to enforce immigration law they are violating Federal Law.  To ignore Federal Law is UNCONSTITUTIONAL regardless of the reason for ignoring them.  This is selective prosecution which is also UNCONSTITUTIONAL but nobody in the Federal Government will do anything about these cities.  I would love to see someone with a spine ask Obama, Axlerod, Emanuel or Gibbs about why they don't target cities who protect people breaking Federal Law.

 The next time one of them utters the words about the border being secured to ask about the 50 billion dollars worth of cocaine flowing into this Country.  Ask them about all the drug violence around the border towns the main stream media under reports everyday. 

 I know many have seen the below video but think of what Border Patrol puts up with. A Government not interested in securing the border, won't have your back when bad things happen.  There have been many incidents in clashes with people and several border agents have gone to jail.  The video below shows how out of touch the progressive left is with this problem.

Why does the Left hate the Tea Party(added something at the bottom)

 It does make me wonder why the liberal and progressive left hates the Tea Party so much.  We have been labeled Racists, AstroTurf, and etc for speaking out against a out of control Government.  The Tea Party movement actually began under Bush, most on the left will never like to point this out because it doesn't fit their agenda.  The growth however has certainly came under Obama, with his big spending and using thug tactics to get health care passed.

 Why do they hate the Tea Party?  Is it because we want a Government to follow the Constitution and return to the Founders principles?  That they believe in small Government, believing in being fiscally responsible with tax payers money, believing that America and Americans should come first.  That our border should be secured, not only for stopping illegal immigration but for National Security.  That they believe that judges should be following the Constitution and never trying to change it.  That they believe in Individual responsibility in your personal and business dealings.

 We are a nation of Individuals with common interests, The Founders set the Bill of Rights for our Individual freedoms.  The Left doesn't seem to hold to the principles of the Founders, seeking group rights rather than Individual. We have seen the attacks on Tea Party people throughout the median and local papers trying to destroy the movement.  They fear the Tea Party for pointing out the leftist agenda to transform this country from it's founding principles.  We have seen this agenda of transformation in all of the actions of Obama has done or is trying to do. Health Care, Stimulus to some, Finical reform(no Fannie no Freddie no real change), Cap and Trade(TAX), Amnesty not immigration reform, Discloser Act(restricting free speech) and list goes on.  I personally spoke with a Liberal who said Obama wasn't on the Left, If his beliefs are the middle of this country than we are certainly in trouble.

 The larger we allow our Federal Government the harder it becomes to control.  If you read the Founders all spoke of tyranny in Government, feared big Government and warned us all about it.  The left has been very critical about where was everybody during Bush's eight years?  The question is valid, Does it really matter when they realized that our Government was heading down a path they didn't wish to follow.  There where people in the colonies who didn't believe that the King of England was a tyrant towards them. They only realized after those few started questioning the King about his policies.  The fact is the Tea Party has awakened people to the problem of out of control big Government.

We aren't a Global Government, we don't need outside interference(UN), we need only one currency, we only need our courts and no world courts. 

 We are the people of the United States of America and except no substitutes.

Letter to Obama by 95 year old veteran

I recieved this email and thought I would share with you all, my grandfather like so many of his generation served in World War II in the Pacific.

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,


My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish. I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

"We're no longer a Christian nation"

"America is arrogant" - (Your wife even announced to the world, "America is mean-spirited." Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said, "America hasn't lived up to her ideals." Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected. Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man. Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now. And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle...

Founding Father Benjamin Rush

      Founding Father Benjamin Rush

Benjamin Rush was born on December 24, 1745 in Byberry, Pennsylvania, some twelve miles from Philadelphia. He was an interesting and often forgotten person among many of the other Founding Fathers.  He was a Physician, writer, educator, humanitarian and one of our unknown great Americans.  He was placed with his Uncle at age 6 after his father died and his Uncle Dr Finley became his teacher and he eventually attended the University of Philadelphia.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree there and then studied under Dr. Redman of Philadelphia for four years before heading to Edinburgh in Scotland. After spending many years in Europe studying and practicing Medicine, French, Italian, Spanish, and science he returned to North America in 1769.  He setup a private practice in Philadelphia and also became Professor of Chemistry at the College of Philadelphia.

      The City he loved

 Rush became very popular among his residents of Philadelphia, He extensively practiced among the poor and his classes where very popular. He published the first American book on Chemistry in 1773 along with many articles about the Patriot cause and he joined the American Philosophical Society. He was active in the Sons of Liberty in Philadelphia during that time. In June of 1776 he was elected to attend the provincial conference to send delegates to the Continental Congress.  He was appointed that year to represent the State of Pennsylvania and signed the Declaration of Independence. Rush was appointed the surgeon-general of the middle department of the Continental Army which caused him some trouble.  He resigned over problems and actually tried getting Washington removed as General until Washington confronted him.  Rush stayed away from the war after his confrontation with Washington.

      After the War

 In 1789 Rush wrote in the Philadelphia newspapers in favor of adopting the Federal Constitution. He was elected to the Pennsylvania convention which adopted the Constitution. He was appointed treasurer of the US Mint where he served from 1797 to 1813. Rush continued teaching and practicing medicine until his death, He was also a social activist in Philadelphia. A prominent advocate for the abolition of slavery, an advocate for scientific education for the masses, including women, and for public medical clinics to treat the poor. He died at the age of 68 at his home in Philadelphia, the most celebrated physician in America.



     A Interesting Story about Rush

 Rush had always stayed in touch with both Jefferson and Adams over the years writing letters to both.  It was Jefferson and Adams who stopped talking even before Jefferson defeated him in 1801.  They hadn't spoken or written to each other in nearly a decade until Rush wrote Adams a letter. Rush explained to Adams that he had a dream which Rush claimed was a vision, Rush was very religious man who believed the vision came from God.  He wrote Adams that his vision was about Adams and Jefferson writing thousands of letters between the two Founders.  Adams was skeptical at first but he believed in Rush and eventually both men wrote thousand of letters.  There is a couple of books just about these letters and the content of them.  Rush left Adams with one more thing about his vision, Rush told him that Jefferson and Adams would enter the ground together. 

Both men died on July 4, 1826 with Adams famous last words "Jefferson still lives" not knowing he had died several hours earlier.

Dream Act-Amnesty for some

 I had come across several weeks ago a website talking about this legislation about immigrants.  The basic idea is giving a pathway to citizenship through college or through military service.  I would certainly have no problem with someone getting an easier path to citizenship for fighting and defending our Nation.  This has actually gone on for many years as legal immigrants have joined the military as a path to citizenship.  The problem with the dream act is simple, We pay for illegal immigrants to go to school and they get a path to citizenship.  Can anybody say Amnesty by Education,  I read this article in the Arizona Republic and the link is at the bottom of the post. 

 It's a typical article about how illegal aliens are being treated like second class citizens, the truth is they aren't citizens to begin with. Their parents knew that by breaking our laws that their children would run into obstacles as they get older.  There is also nothing in the article about cost, What is going to be the cost to the American taxpayer to send illegals children to college?  The parents across this country have enough trouble affording sending their kids to college without having to pay for others who aren't citizens. All your open border, education leaders on the left and all immigration groups support this for reasons you can understand.  So for two years of college or trade school, you can get citizenship for breaking the law.  You will hear all the heart string stories thrown at you for opposing such a bill, you will once again be called a racist, etc.  What happened to if something doesn't feel right or sound right can't I oppose that legislation. 

 I can't enter in other country illegally and go to school for two years and become a citizen, so why are we doing this?  We are supposed to feel bad for these illegal immigrants children, All these countries who can't take care of their citizens expect we are required to do so.  We have plenty of American citizens who need help, plenty of poor in this country who are American citizens who could use are help.  The focus of this country must return to Americans first, all Nations should put it's citizens before any others. 

 The Dream Act is nothing but Amnesty for some, a sneaky attempt to grant some while they work on Amnesty for the rest.  Call, Write or Email your federal representative to oppose this act.

Drops Charges Against Two Illegal Aliens, While Home Owner Could Face Life in Burglary Case

Two known illegal immigrants stole an 82-year-old-man's trailer and attempted to run him over in the process, he defended himself by firing shots and striking one of the men. The illegals, with prior offenses, have been given a deal by the District Attorney to escape charges and testify against the 82 year old citizen.

The criminals have already consulted a lawyer to get their civil suit in order so they can sue him for everything he has after the successful prosecution.

NASA-Why Obama has it wrong

 I sometimes wonder about American achievement and whether we can regain some of our pride in our achievements again.  You can see this clearly in a policy by the Obama administration about cutting NASA's legs from under them.  When did competition in this country become a horrible idea?  It was this very same competition that we set our goal of being the first nation to the moon.  Where has the pride in achievement gone to, how would everyone feel the day an American spacecraft landed on Mars to plant our Flag. Obama would rather share our technology, our inventions, our goals and diminish American pride in doing something before anyone else.

 Americans have the right to be proud of our accomplishments and we should be teaching our youth to dream big and to aspire to those dreams.  Does cutting our Space Program so we can go be tourists hitching riding on Russian spaceships the message we need to be sending.  The government wastes money in many different ways, I believe the Space Program needs to continue for many reasons.  I believe we are making a huge mistake by allowing Obama to change the direction and focus of our great Space Program.  How will we inspire the next great generation of Astronauts if there is no ship to fly and no goal for them to achieve.

The Fight Begins

 The Obama administration finally filed suit today against SB1070, not that this is really a big surprise or anything.  There is a couple of things that are very interesting however, one you notice they waited until the Supreme Court was out of session and no mention of racial profiling.  The Supreme Court being out of session means if they get an injunction the state would have to wait for the next session to appeal to the Supreme Court.  They seem to be claiming that because the federal government doesn't enforce all the immigration laws that the Arizona can't either.


The suit, filed in Phoenix, claims Arizona's new law "will conflict and undermine the federal government's careful balance of immigration enforcement priorities and objectives," and divert resources from the "dangerous aliens who the federal government targets as its top enforcement priority."  This statement alone is enough to prove that our federal government has no interest in enforcing our laws or protecting the border. I believe that Arizona is doing what it must do, take a stand against a federal government who is failing every American citizen.  This isn't about one particular party or the other, Bush failed us by not doing his job on the border and now Obama is doing no different. 

 The American people where made a promise back in 1986 after Reagan passed the last immigration law which granted amnesty to 3+ millions of illegals.  We where promised the border would be protected, promised that illegals wouldn't be able to find jobs to keep Americans working and wages up.  There are many reasons to enforce our immigration laws and they all matter, for we are a nation of laws which can be changed.  Giving amnesty to those who broke our laws is the easy way out, calling anyone a racist for wanting our laws enforced is the easy way out, suing a state for trying to do your job is the easy way out.

 It's very simple Mr President and Congress, so please pay attention, Secure our Border, enforce our laws and no more States will need to DO YOUR JOB FOR YOU.

Happy Independence Day

 I know throughout this great nation today we will be celebrating our country's 234th birthday today.  I would like to thank all the men and women who have served this country faithfully both home and abroad.  The sacrifice began with the revolutionary soldiers and has continued to this very day in Iraq and Afghanistan.  We must cherish what others do and have done so we can celebrate with friends and family on our nations birthday.  We also need to remember that our duty is to them and protecting this country at home from those wishing to harm us.  Patriots come in many sizes and shapes, backgrounds, from a street vendor who helps find a terrorist to a mother waiting for her son or daughter to return from service.  Choose your own path to be a Patriot and serve this great nation but our Founders left this in our hands.  We are responsible for the future of this great nation, We will have nobody to blame except ourselves if we fail.

 I want to wish everyone a Happy Independence Day and express thanks to all service men around once again my thanks for your service.  I would also like to thank my grandfather William A Dunning who served in World War II and is celebrating his 65th wedding anniversary today to my grandmother.

The Declaration and the Law

  The Declaration of Independence Part of American Law

  Professor John Eidsmoe, Professor of Law at Faulkner University School of Law, writes:
  "The role of the Declaration of Independence in American law is often misconstrued. Some believe the Declaration is simply a statement of ideas that has no legal force whatsoever today. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Declaration has been repeatedly cited by the U.S. Supreme Court as part of the fundamental law of the United States of America.
  "The United States Code Annotated includes the Declaration of Independence under the heading 'The Organic Laws of the United States of America' along with the Articles of Confederation. the Constitution, and the Northwest Ordinance, Enabling acts frequently require states to adhere to the principles of the Declaration; in the Enabling Act of June 16, 1906, Congress authorized Oklahoma Territory to take steps to become a state. Section 3 provides that the Oklahoma Constitution 'shall not be repugnant to the Constitution of the United States and the principles of the Declaration of Independence.'" (Christianity and the Constitution, pp 360-361)

 The Writing of the Declaration of Independence

  We recall that the Declaration begins with two paragraphs, followed by a long list of grievances and charges against King George, and then is concluded by one paragraph followed by the signatures. Altogether if took Jefferson seventeen days to complete the assignment. Actually the list of charges takes up most of the space but probably took Jefferson only one day to write it. This is because he had already drafted the charges in a document he had previously composed so it was only a matter of copying them. This leaves sixteen days to write the two first paragraphs and an ending one! Some of our students have asked why it would take him that long  to write a few paragraphs. It appears that he spent most of the time trying to structure into the first paragraphs some of the "ancient principles" which he had come to admire from his study of ancient civilizations.

   By adopting this Declaration, the Founders were saying there are certain facts that are so obvious they don't need further proof or even any further discussion. This would certainly surprise some in academic circles today who love to philosophize for endless hours about the existence of a Creator, the equality of man, and the endowment of rights by the Creator. Here is the declaration in American law of the simple, fundamental belief in a Supreme Creator! And, they said, this is the only basis for sound government!
"...and men are created equal..."
  If we believe in a Supreme Creator and that He created us, then we must be His children and we must all be brothers and sisters. As such, no one has an inherent right to rule over any one else. This is our personal declaration of independence not only from the King of England but also from our own fellow citizens who might attempt to force control upon us in the form of regulation or licensing. Why should I need to gain my neighbor's permission (or his agent, the government's permission) in order to go into a particular business or occupation? Anytime we set up someone to give permission to another, we have basically said we are unequal. Of course, this does not preclude having rules in society for the enjoyment of jointly owned property such as roads, public buildings, etc.
  This phase presupposes, as a self-evident truth, that the Creator made human beings equal in their rights, equal befor the bar of justice, and equal in his sight. Of course, individual attributes and personal circumstances in life vary widely. Is there room here for classes of people, each with certain rights? No. When we begin to classify people, as rulers and dictators must always do for control, we deny the very equality we claim to have.

Here is all four verses of the Star Spangled Banner along with a Civil War verse that was added.  While most national anthems are short, it does make you wonder why most Americans don't even know that more than one verse even exists.

John Adams Independence Day Prediction

 Because of what these principles would do for future Ameicans and the world, one of the committee members assigned to write th document, John Adams. later penned this prophetic insight about how future generations would honor this document:
  
"I am apt to believe that it [Independence Day] will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and Illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward for evermore."

 As we approach another July 4th celebration, it seems a appropriate time, as we have done in the past, to review the principles of liberty, the basic beliefs, and the principles of independence which are contained in this marvelous document of freedom. Surely, if Americans really knew and held to what was contained in the Declaration of Independence, it would be held up reverently as a most priceless National Treasure.

Why Obama wants Amnesty

 We saw the same old recycled rhetoric from Obama in his speech today about Illegal immigration.  The regular Democrats (how few there are in Congress) along with the progressives are playing the sympathy card on Americans.  That Illegals come here for a better life, a new start and the American dream that has happened to many immigrants of the past. The Democrats convinced most Americans of color that Republicans are racist, don't care about them and wish they would go away.  Obama is doing this same tactic about the illegals, that anyone opposed to them being here against federal law hates them for their skin tone.
We have seen this before from them about other minorities and the tactic has worked for Black Americans vote 85% or up Democrat.  This isn't about race, the left spins it that way because it suits what they want and that is the votes. 

Then why does everyone who is opposed to illegal immigration have no problem with legal immigrants going through the system to become Americans.  We have changed immigration policy in this country over the years as most country's do as times change.  Once this country was wide open with space to fill, Once this country had immigrants rely on themselves not the government.  They received help from communities, churches and local groups that helped them begin the new life here in America.  The problem is things have changed and our laws have changed to protect America from becoming overburdened by those who wish to come here.  I know people on the left get bent out of shape when you bring up economic issues about illegals but my question is why are American taxpayers forced to pay for them.

 They aren't American citizen's, yet we give them health care for free, they get assistance from the federal and state governments.  I know of a local DES(Department of Economic and Security) person here in AZ that had over 490 illegal mothers about to give birth.  We are paying about $15,000 per person for people who aren't Americans, nobody else does this and most places around the world you must be economically viable to immigrant legally to their country.  My question is Why we should pay?  Has it become Americas problem that the rest of the world doesn't know how to run their country.  Why don't they all immigrate to some South American country or some European country or even Africa.  The simple truth is we have made it easy to break our laws and they know that the federal government here isn't interested in fixing the problem. 

 We are a nation of immigrants and nobody denies this but we simply can't afford to take on every ones  citizen's.  If we don't control what is going our local, state and federal system will collapse,  There is tough decisions that Americans must make sometimes.  The left may not like this but Economics has brought many nations to collapse over the history of man.  To ignore this part of are illegal immigration problem is to our detriment.

 We need change in Washington that is clear, I mean on both sides of the aisle for they have forgotten that this is supposed to be about service.  Representing the people of their towns, cities, counties, and states not serving their own self interest.
